Good dog.

I arrived home early today. A slow day at work meant heading home just after lunchtime. My goal was to finish my taxes. I nearly did, with only 2 things left to complete tomorrow.

While I was working on finishing that, I opened the window for the beautiful weather to filter through. Upper sixties and sunny left my pets wanting sunshine as much as I did.

Buddy sat in the window and Zen alternated between trying to look out around him and trying to hug me. Eventually I gave in and helped Zen up into my lap. It was cute, so I wanted to share pictures.

May you find completing your taxes to be easy even when self-employed or a contractor. May you have ample time to spend enjoying glorious weather this year. May you get to snuggle with your pets regardless of their size. And may you have plenty to be grateful for. Above all, may you know that God loves and supports you in all that you do and that any desired healing is full and speedy.

Om Shanti

My Buddy

The kitties got their yule present a few days early. It was a new cat tree. They had great fun breaking it in and got so frisky they almost toppled our holiday tree too!

I ended up catching my buddy cat in some adorable moments afterwards, once he’d run out of steam to play.

I love my super photogenic Buddy cat. I hope you find him as adorable as I do.

Welcome Zelda… errr… Nadi

I got a text today about half way through my morning at work. A kitten that had been gifted to a resident and now needed a home. Was I interested, they asked.

After weird dreams I had had last night, and my knee jerk reaction remembering how we got Buddy and Missy. I replied with send a picture. My thought being if it’s a full grown ‘kitten’ I’d say no.

Instead I get a picture of a barely old enough to leave momma kitten. I couldn’t say no. Plus, she was a calico like my old lady kitty Priss.

Her temporary name was Zelda. Though I have nothing against Zelda, Nathan and I both agreed it wasn’t really a cute kitten name. I suggested Sandy due to her patches of tan. That was so, so. We ran through a whole host of other names and then started translating options to other languages.

Finally we settled on Nadi which means River- I thought it fitting as an acknowledgement of how things have just been flowing to us lately. Honoring the Divine process.

I think she’ll fit right in, and super cute. Buddy isn’t sure what to think of her, Missy and Priss are a bit standoffish yet, the dog would slobber all over her if she’d even let him close enough, but my kids think she’s great.

Prepping for a good birthday.

So, I have no idea what is in store for my birthday this year, but I’m just under a month out from it. I know Nathan and our friend Hannah have talked briefly about it, but as far as I know, nothing specific has been set. If there has, then they’re working on a surprise, that would be nice.

Regardless, I’m determined to have a good birthday being the last few have been mediocre to crappy.

I will be working the day of my birthday, but I’ll have Valentine’s Day mostly off,  and the day before V-day I have completely off. So, honestly I’m hoping that I get a wonderful V-day & B-day in one.

Anyway, in hopeful anticipation I finally succumbed to a haircut. Since I was already dressed cute, and Ian was being cuddly and cute, I decided to take a few pics/selfies to show. Even resorting to a restroom pic to show off baby belly, it’s definitely showing these days and I have at least 4 months to go!

So here’s cuteness in anticipation of a good birthday this year.

In other news, the kittens spent a couple days at the vet to get spayed & neutered, just in time apparently. When they got home they were sore and sluggish, but Buddy was still super happy to see me. We had some really good cuddle time. He’s so adorable. Missy was not really up to full cuddle just yet, though she’s never really been that cuddly, so she may not.

Screamless Dream

So that dream I mentioned in my last post: kinda funny. Nathan said I had to post it and request feedback & interpretations. So here that goes.

I’m standing outside,  broad daylight,  current weather (in my sleep I thought it was that day). I see the mountain lion crest the embankment to the north, headed toward the road.

I yelled for Nathan:  “You gotta come see her,  she’s beautiful.”

At that point she looks at me and heads my direction.

Just then Nathan comes out of the other door and sees her headed toward me. He exclaims “uh, Treasa, what ya doing!”

I confidently say: “It’s ok,  I doubt she’ll get too close in broad daylight.”

Just as I say that the mountain lion gets within about 5 feet. I say “Ok, that’s close enough.” She takes one more step & I use my shirt to “puff up” and look bigger, at which point I climb the steps backward (which btw, the house we’re in right now only has 1 set of steps).

Momma cougar then decides I’m too much work (or some such thought)  and walks over to Nathan,  who’s still on the front steps. Nathan exclaims “uh, Treasa!”.

I tell him “puff up like I did”, at which point he does. Momma lion  keeps walking toward him up the steps. Nathan says my name again very nervously.

I tell Nathan,  come on,  she’s just trying to sniff you.  Keep looking big,  & she’ll give up & leave you alone.

Except she didn’t.  She went all the way,  and stood up & put her paws on Nathan’s shoulders.  Nathan said my name again very loud & very nervously.

I say “Awe, pet the nice kitty”.

He reaches his hand out very slowly and shakily & scratches her cheek.

She gives him a big huge lick from chin to forehead, gets down, walks down the steps into the yard and just sits looking back & forth at both of us- like a dog wanting a treat.

That’s when I woke up. I had the sense upon waking that I am the mountain lion.

What do you think?
