Storm damage.

I tried to take my usual walk around the pond between shifts and trees were downed from last night’s storm.

I climbed over and around 3 of them to lose to the 4th because of too plentiful poison ivy. I’m already treating a large patch of poison oak on my arm from Katherine having brought me a leaf and smearing it on the inside of my elbow. I just didn’t want to risk another large patch of itchy rash.

Anyway, since I couldn’t do my normal laps of  walking, I took a bunch of pictures, including a whole bunch of pictures of the Great Blue Heron which has returned to the pond for this season. There is also a Green Heron but I couldn’t get close enough to it for pictures, last week I managed a couple of blurry ones. I tried to catch fish in my pictures but the water has darkened and I don’t think I caught them very well. Last week I caught a few fish, so I’ll post both rounds of pictures. I was buzzed by a Vulture several times and caught it in one of the Heron pictures, it was really a good albeit exercise free lunch break.

Then I went to work early to sit on their pub patio which has a wonderful overhang for shade. I watched a mother Red House Finch feed her babies. There were 4 nests in view, but only one momma was brave enough to visit with me sitting watching. It was a good relaxing moment.

May you have good bird watching and time in nature. May you be blessed with awe and wonder of all the beautiful creatures around us. May you have good relaxing moments and enjoy the weather as much as possible. May you have good days mostly.

Last week:

This week:

Day 1 of 3: Sighhhhhhh

No responsibilities. No kids. No requirements. No things to think about or solve. No schedule or places to be. It is my choice.

I started at my brother’s house because my sister in law picked me up for a break for herself, and they were saving me a rental car by loaning me one of theirs.

So 9:30 was saying hi to everyone that has already made it. Then I wandered his property. It is so beautiful I took pictures. Here’s some highlights:

Then I needed to decompress and find the ocean. He’s 15 minuets From several options, but I picked Stonington’s borough.

I sat on one stretch of rocks by the docks, then walked further out to the small beach. Again a few highlights for your viewing pleasure:

After quite some time I decided I was thirsty and somewhat hungry. I went to the restaurant on the pier by the docks. It’s called breakwater.

I enjoyed a grilled lobster roll with sweet potato waffle fries and a rum punch with a Flourless Chocolate Torte for dessert. I went only slightly off of my diet choices to accommodate a wonderfully east coast amazing meal. Nothing an extra Benadryl can’t solve, especially since it was so yummy and a good meal by the water.

So far I am having an amazing day, and it’s only 3pm. I have 5400 steps in and much needed relaxation, and a super yummy meal. Did I mention I really needed this!

My phone battery is running low from all the pictures/videos, so I may not be able to post this fully until later tonight when I get back to my hotel. Needless to say, I’m really enjoying much needed relief and relaxation.

I am enjoying this short trip immensely, I really needed it and I’m milking it for every ounce of joy possible.

On a side tangent, as someone who never gets their nails done because I have to trim them twice weekly, I didn’t want to spend any significant money making mine look good for this short special occasion. My first attempt was peel and stick. They were pretty with gold accents, but were easily loosened by normal tasks and came off the first time I washed my hands. My second attempt is a do-it-yourself glue on set which I had to trim down. They’re not perfect like high dollar manicures, but pretty and they accomplished what I was going for. Both sets were $5 from “Five Below”.

May you have immense relief when you need it. May you enjoy yourself and still be kind to your body. May you have exactly what you need and desire in any given moment. Above all may the joy you experience, help you find the healing you seek in every moment. May you know that God loves and supports you in all that you do.

Om Shanti

Good music for chill day.

I had another notification for a song by Jacob Lee. I liked it, so I thought I’d share it and one from previous that I also like.

I’m enjoying a relaxing day with kids. They’ve been mostly good. We started the day with an Ostara egg hunt of partly dyed boiled eggs, and partly chocolate filled eggs. I did conceed and eat a few chocolate covered cashews- extra yummy.

My kids, however, gorged on sweets as kids usually do. The following sugar crash mellowed them out, but they have had a few tantrum moments. The tantrums made me appreciate their really strong lungs.

Katherine danced with me to music. The verdict is official, Katherine really likes EDM way more than any other music, and she will sing along if she likes the music. She also really likes not wearing pants. Big surprise there. She has lots of moments where I know she’s definitely my child. I found it extra cute that once her pants were off, she put socks and shoes back on.

I’m enjoying this chill day quite immensely. The visual weather and everything turning green is gorgeous. It’s still colder than I’d like, but we uncovered plants to let them get some sun and get watered. They’ll be recovered before the temps do back down again this evening.

May you have relaxing days, ample work and abundant income. May you know that everything is okay and normal will return soon. May you have good things to look forward to. May your goals keep you focused mentally, and may your spare moments be calmed in meditation. May you mostly remain connected to your inner self. May you have faith that the divine and your inner being are bringing you the things you appreciate and desire.
